Opening of Staunton State Park delayed until spring

The opening of Staunton State Park has been delayed until late spring 2013, park officials have revealed.

The 3,500-acre state park near Shaffers Crossing in Conifer was slated to open this month, but construction delays have pushed the opening back about six months, said park manager Jennifer Marten.

“We knew this was going to be a tight timeline for construction when we started the project. … As with any construction project, it didn’t go perfectly,” Marten said.
