A new approach to holiday decorating, by design

Only 79 days left until Christmas. And if the thought of decorating is already getting you down, Redesignology may have a solution.

The company will take your interior holiday decorations and create displays in your house. It will also help people prepare for holiday parties, said Carole Lofing, owner of the company.

“In today’s world, we’re all so busy that we don’t have time to do (the decorating) ourselves,” said Kate Higgins, who works with Lofing. “Or we get to the point that everything looks the same, so we want someone to come in and create a new look.”

Lofing, who has lived in Evergreen for four years, said the homeowner can set the decoration boxes in the middle of the room, and Redesignology does the rest. The designers figure out where decorations would look the best and set them up — and, “voila, it’s a new, dazzling Christmas display,” Lofing said.

In addition, the team will assist with decorating and set-up for holiday parties.

During the rest of the year, Redesignology works in two other areas of interior design. One is called staging. This is where the designers work with Realtors to prepare a home for sale. The idea is to place furniture and accessories in the home to make it more attractive to potential buyers.

The other is called interior redesign, in which the designer uses existing furniture in a home and looks for ways to rearrange it to make space more functional. Interior redesign doesn’t necessarily include buying new furniture, though the designers may suggest more lighting or different accessories to enhance the space.
