Evergreen resident Sue Marinelli lost her seat on the Jeffco school board in Tuesday's election.

Challenger Laura Boggs, a business consultant, captured 51.4 percent of the vote to 48.6 percent for Marinelli for the District 2 seat. Marinelli is a former teacher and the current board president.

In District 5 in South Jeffco, Paula Noonan defeated incumbent Richard Rush 52.4 percent to 47.6 percent. Noonan operates two legislative-related websites.

In District 1, Robin Johnson was running unopposed. Johnson was appointed to replace Scott Benefield after he resigned.

All seats are for a four-year term.

Meanwhile, Jeffco's bid to extend term limits for most elected offices in the county was soundly defeated by voters. The two proposals would have extended to three terms the limit for all elected offices except the Board of County Commissioners.
