Lost cow found — and sent to market

A wayward cow that wandered through Evergreen for a few months was found and fattened up for market, said owner Hal Choate.

The cow escaped from Choate's ranch shortly after he bought her seven months ago. During the summer, people spotted her at various locations including Taco Bell, Walgreens and the Safeway parking lot.

With help from neighbor Bill Finger, who agreed to erect a pen on his property, Choate was able to round up the cow and take her to market a couple of weeks ago.
