Lobos fizzle out at the finish line

-A A +A

Skyview scores 20 unanswered points in the 2nd half in downing Conifer

By Michael Hicks

CONIFER — For a half, the Conifer Lobos — at least on the scoreboard — showed they could hang with Skyview on Friday night at Lobo Field.

It didn’t hurt that Conifer stopped Wolverines quarterback Michael Vigil short of the goal line as time expired in the first half.

The second half, however, was a different story.

Skyview took the opening drive 59 yards in just over three minutes for the first of three Deyvon Butler second-half touchdowns, and the Wolverines rolled to a 20-0 shutout of Conifer.
