Kenneth Arthur "Bud" Elmgreen, a VFW member, dedicated more than 25 years to and retired from Xcel. Someone who touched so many lives died in his Evergreen home on Thursday, July 26, 2012, at age 90.
Bud was born on Aug. 15, 1921, and was admired by many throughout his long life. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn; his daughters, Patricia and Kathy, and son Brad Benton.
Bud was a wonderful father of four and a wonderful brother. He is survived by brother Everett and sister Ethel Snowbarger. He was also a wonderful grandfather of Mindy, Deidre and Justin; he had three great-grandchildren, Caitlyn, Lacy and Brennan. Bud was a friend to many and will be missed.
A service honoring him will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 10, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 901 S. Sheridan Blvd. in Lakewood.
