Those who enjoy modern cinema may have seen “Lincoln,” “The Butler” or “Twelve Years a Slave.” It is good to be reminded of these sad chapters in American history. It is good to remember the anguish of Abraham Lincoln in doing the work to abolish slavery. This spirit was revived in the life of the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in the past century. Using nonviolent methods, he moved our consciousness forward to a place of more mutual acceptance. For this, he gave his life.
