DENVER — Jake Kay could pass for a picture of the walking wounded.
The Evergreen junior walked onto the mat at the 4A state wrestling tournament with his left elbow taped up after tweaking it in practice last week. This doesn’t even consider the fact that he was already nursing a nagging shoulder.
“He’s working with it, living with it. It affects him I think,” Evergreen head coach Lane Williams said. “(He’s) trying to learn how to wrestle with it.”
