Helen A. Stewart was born in Strasburg, lived in Englewood and Denver, and moved to the mountains in 1963 to Kittredge and then Evergreen.
She peacefully passed away on April 24 at Cedars Healthcare Center in Lakewood.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Stewart, and daughter, Robin Kay.
She is survived by her daughter, Barbara; sons, Robert, Brad, Reid and Brett; 18 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; eight great-great-grandchildren; and two sisters.
Helen in the early years taught catechism at Christ the King Catholic Church in Evergreen. Helen loved gardening and taking care of her family. In later years, she added going to Central City and Black Hawk to among her favorites.
You would always see her in long skirts and Western boots with beads on them.
Service will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, May 4, at Olinger Crown Hill Mortuary, 7777 W. 29th Ave. (on the west side at 29th and Wadsworth Boulevard). A reception will follow.
