Indian Hills July 4 celebration

The Evergreen Music Festival and Art Show will be from 10 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on July 4 at its new location, Buchanan Park. Community building at Buchanan available for gatherings
The Evergreen Community Garden at Buchanan has a community building within the garden that is available to reserve for smaller gatherings. You may tour it at any time. It is equipped with lighting for nighttime events and has electrical outlets. There is no charge, but it must be reserved to avoid scheduling conflicts. World War II exhibit at Hiwan Museum
A new called exhibit “We Can Do It: Jefferson County in World War II,” at Hiwan Homestead Museum tells the story of Jefferson County’s role in World War II and includes 10th Mountain Division equipment, an authentic Japanese flag that flew over a prison camp and paraphernalia from the Denver Ordnance Plant. It runs through Nov. 15 at Hiwan Homestead Museum, 4208 Timbervale Drive in Evergreen. Admission is free. The museum is open Tuesday through Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Lutheran Church of the Cross has two hiking options. In April through November, the moderate/agvanced group meets on the second Wednesday of the month and the beginner Group, which is slow paced with frequent stops, meets the fourth Wednesday of the month. Local charities launch Showers for Those in Need initiative
United Methodist Church of Evergreen has established a mission of support called Showers for Those in Need, in conjunction with Evergreen Christian Outreach and the Evergreen rec centers. Those in need of a hot shower can go to EChO at 27640 Highway 74 in Evergreen and claim a voucher that can be used for a free shower at either local rec center.
