Group aims to ease soldiers' minds, families' burdens

Thanks to the Evergreen Rotary Club and its just-launched Operation Warmheart, young Army privates deployed overseas can breathe easier about the loved ones they leave at home.

“Privates make very little money, and a lot of them have families,” explains Jane Weinberger, who co-chairs the project with Rotarian Howard Hoch. “Operation Warmheart is specifically about having dollars ready to help soldiers’ families in emergency situations.”
