Gilbert Schoonveld, 73, of Evergreen died at home Feb. 13, 2009, after a brief battle with cancer. He faced death as he did his life, surrounded by family, comfortable in his own home, and with with dignity and thoughtfulness.
Gil’s passions in life were the outdoors, old car restoration, antiques and family.
He was the much-loved husband of Janice, father of Gregory, Kristin and Brian, and grandfather/great-grandfather of seven.
Gil’s memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, at Church of the Hills, 28628 Buffalo Park Road in Evergreen.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests any memorial donations be made to Church of the Hills or Mount Evans Hospice.
