DENVER — Pockets of snow covered the tennis grounds at Colorado Academy and temperatures hovered in the high 30s, but Evergreen’s boys tennis team was certainly fired up.
No, Evergreen didn’t overtake perennial favorite Colorado Academy, which ran the table to seven championships and 84 team points at the 4A Region 1 tournament Oct. 4-5. But the Cougars finished second with 52 points and will send three teams to this week’s state meet at Pueblo City Park.
