Evergreen firefighters on on Friday quickly extinguished a blaze that started in a chicken coop and spread to grass on the property of a residence at Highway 74 and Kerr Gulch.
After receiving a call from the homeowner at 11:53 a.m., an Evergreen Fire/Rescue crew was on the scene with a fire engine and water tender by 12:01 p.m., said EFR spokesperson Stacee Montague.
“We were able to get water on the structure by 12:06 p.m.,” she said.
