Fire district incumbents face challengers

Two fire district directors who are the subject of a recall election defended their records Tuesday evening, Oct. 9, at a candidates night at the United Methodist Church in Evergreen. Longtime board members David Klaus and Phil Shanley faced five contenders who are vying to win the confidence of voters and remove them from their jobs.The Canyon Courier sponsored the forum, which was moderated by Courier editor Doug Bell. About 30 people were present.The following candidates were in attendance: Jeff DeDisse, Charles Simons, Darin Hittle, George Goldbach and Martin Friedel.
