Time is running out for residents in the Evergreen Park and Recreation District to participate in a community survey about its facilities.
The online survey is available through Sunday, Sept. 15, at http://bit/ly/EPRDsurvey.
Participating residents can weigh in on possible future projects such as expansion of the swimming pool at Buchanan Recreation Center and other additions such as an indoor running track and added classroom space. Lighted playing fields are another issue for those taking the survey to consider.
Other survey questions include the degree of support for a property-tax increase to pay for future projects.
Other survey questions focus on the amount of community events that take place in Evergreen parks and whether to market park district programs and services to the Denver metro area.
The survey, which the EPRD board members approved earlier this year, will be used as a frame of reference in planning future development and assessing current services. The last survey conducted by the district was in 2010.
The park district serves 23,000 residents and includes Evergreen Lake Park and the Buchanan and Wulf recreation centers.
In 2014 the park district's combined mill rate is expected to be 7.372 mills, or a tax rate of $0.007372 for every $1 of assessed value. The annual property tax on a $300,000 house in the park district would be $176 in 2014.
