Evergreen is in the market for a new football coach.

Mike Sellers, who manned the position for the past six years, recently announced he was stepping down from his post as he looks to return to school to pursue completion of a master's degree in education.

"I've been involved with football since I was eight-years-old," said Sellers, who also cited spending more time with his family as a factor in his decision. "It's hard to walk away but I thought this was the best time to do it."

Sellers compiled a 27-33 record at Evergreen, but his impact on the community went far beyond wins and losses.

"Mike's held kids accountable for their actions and has been a good role model for them and how they should be conducting themselves," athletic director Tony Barnett said.
