Evergreen stuns Valor, takes third in Jeffco

LAKEWOOD — Any coach or athlete will tell you some wins are better than others. That’s exactly how Ali Meyers, head coach for the Evergreen girls’ basketball team, felt after the Lady Cougars beat Valor Christian 47-45 on Feb. 17 at D’Evelyn High School.
The win secured Evergreen third place in this year’s 4A Jeffco League tournament.
“This is the proudest win of my career,” said Meyers, who, at the end of the game, was awestruck by how much her team dedicated themselves to getting the win.
