Evergreen Country Day students spruce up sculptures

Have you noticed the new shine on familiar sculptures around Evergreen? On Friday, May 27, fifth-graders from Evergreen Country Day School paired with Art for the Mountain Community to clean and re-wax 10 of the permanent sculptures around town.

As part of a community service day, the fifth-graders spent their last full day of school learning about AMC’s permanent and temporary sculptures, touring the 2010-11 sculpture walk, and washing and waxing their assigned sculptures.

Sculptures they cleaned included “Planting Evergreen” and “Check It Out,” both at Evergreen Library; and “Polar Bear and Cubs” and “Free Wheelin’,” both at the Buchanan Recreation Center.
