Evergreen boys win, girls take second at Vail meet

VAIL — Deane Long led three Evergreen skiers in the top five as the Cougars took first place in the giant slalom on Jan. 6.
Long had runs of 38.08 and 36.38 seconds to finish third in 1 minute, 14.46 seconds. Sam Grise was fourth in 1:14.81 and Chris Morrison was fifth in 1:14.87.
Evergreen finished with 171 team points to top second-place Nederland by five points.
In all, Evergreen had five skiers in the top 10.
