LAKEWOOD — Sometimes people need a small reminder that life is good.
For the athletes at the May 17 Class 5A and 4A State Track & Field Championships held at Jefferson County Stadium, there are probably no doubts when it comes to thinking about their physical capabilities. They just hit the track and run.
Most likely, those athletes don’t even give a second thought about their mental capabilities either.
That’s why the first race to open the state meet was so heartwarming to runners’ friends and family members in the stands.
