For the Courier
It wasn’t that the first quarter was bad. Everyone just seemed to think it could have been better. Well, it got better quickly for the Evergreen boys basketball team on Jan. 11 in a 59-47 home win over Green Mountain.
Leading 11-9 after the opening period, Evergreen used a swarming defense to go on a 12-0 run at the start of the second quarter and eventually take a 27-13 lead into the break.
