PALISADE — Bobby DeSantis scored a team-high 10 points and seventh-seeded Palisade pulled away from No. 10 Evergreen 53-44 on Feb. 26 in the first round of the 48-team 4A state boys basketball tournament.
Senior Lucas Weidner led Evergreen (11-13) with 15 points. Junior James Morrato added eight and senior Jack Curtis scored seven. Evergreen had reached the Sweet 16 the past two seasons, but graduated four of its top five scorers from the 2012-13 season and five seniors in all.
