The 83-year-old involved in a wreck that killed Jeffco sheriff’s Sgt. David Baldwin has been arrested.

Kenneth Martin Hosch of Golden was arrested Monday in connection with the Jan. 26 wreck on Colorado 93 near West 68th Avenue. He was charged with vehicular homicide and criminally negligent homicide.

According to the charges, Hosch was driving in the southbound lane on Colorado 93 at a high rate of speed when he passed a driver in front of him, reportedly in a legal passing zone.

Multiple witnesses said Hosch failed to return to the southbound lane for more than 1,500 feet after passing the car.

Baldwin, who was on duty and riding a Sheriff’s Office Harley-Davidson motorcycle, was traveling north when Hosch allegedly crashed head-on into him. Baldwin was pronounced dead at the scene.
Hosch was scheduled to appear in court March 6.
