A divided park district board ultimately voted after a six-hour meeting Feb. 10 to push ahead with a feasibility study for a combination community and arts center in Buchanan Park.
Board President Allan Casey and directors Roger Hoaglund and Peter Eggers voted in favor of completing the feasibility study before a needs assessment. Board members Kit Darrow and Janet Heck Doyle voted against first conducting the feasibility study, which would cost $37,000 — $12,000 from the Center for the Arts Evergreen and $25,000 from the park district.
