The Devil’s Canyon forest fire southwest of Idaho Springs was 100 percent contained as of 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Forest Service officials said. The blaze was limited to 7 acres, no structures were destroyed and no evacuations were necessary.
Lightning sparked the fire 4 miles southwest of Idaho Springs off Colorado 103 about 3:30 p.m. Thursday. Smoke jumpers and an air tanker were sent to battle the blaze.
