Deadline nears for final decision on fire training facility

As the three-month delay on the proposed fire training facility at Evergreen Fire Station 2 draws to an end, fire district board members are facing a decision on how to proceed.

A committee of residents, fire district staff and board members has studied the issue and made widely varying recommendations.

Some residents living near the site of the proposed four-story building have asked for modifications to make it less visible. Others are opposing it entirely.
