With more people coming through the doors getting food, the inventory at the Evergreen Christian Outreach food bank is becoming sparse.
Only three cans of chicken noodle soup remained in the canned-goods section last week.
“When we’re out of chicken noodle soup, we’re in big trouble,” said Liz Hawkins of EChO.
During the season between summer and winter, donations slow, said food bank manager Jim Shelton.
“Right now, we need everything,” he said.
