Crash on Highway 74 closes lane; wind making driving hazardous

A two-car crash at 5 p.m. was affecting traffic on Highway 74 at Lewis Ridge Road where an earlier accident closed one lane about 3:30 p.m.  

High winds are making driving conditions treacherous, especially near Elk Meadow Open Space.

The northbound lane was closed on Evergreen Parkway at Lewis Ridge Road due to the previous accident. South of Lewis Ridge Road at Ponderosa Drive, across from Safeway, traffic was slowed due to a herd of 25 to 30 elk crossing the highway at 4:45 p.m., a motorist said.
