Pastor Keith Kraakevik wrecked two of his father’s cars the first year he had his driver’s license.
It was 1959, in Iowa, and he rear-ended another vehicle while driving his father’s Pontiac — the sight of his girlfriend in another fellow’s car had distracted him.
When his father replaced the Pontiac with a new Ford Fairlane, the young Kraakevik hit black ice one Sunday morning and slid into a road sign while taking his mother to church.
