A test of the CodeRED emergency notification system will be conducted Wednesday, March 5, when a text, phone call or e-mail will be sent to every resident who is enrolled.

The alert will arrive between 9 a.m. and noon, said Doug Saba, Evergreen Fire/Rescue spokesman, and the full test could indeed take several hours. The alert will be sent in Jefferson and Broomfield counties, as well as parts of Adams and Clear Creek counties.

CodeRED, used by emergency service providers to keep residents informed of incidents or crises, has replaced the First Call or 911.net system.
