Free throws proved to be the difference on Jan. 20 as host Evergreen edged rival Golden 53-49.
The Cougars only went to the line once in the first three quarters, but ultimately the charity stripe proved to be the deciding factor. Up by two points with seven seconds left, senior Konnor Propst was fouled. Coach Scott Haebe opted to leave the rest of his team on the visiting side of the court while Propst took his shots as the Golden crowd attempted to distract him.
