Cougars’ rally comes up short

CONIFER — It’s no secret that Hailey Newhall has been the offensive catalyst for the Evergreen Lady Cougars so far this girls basketball season. As she goes so does Evergreen.
Falcon found that out in the first half of its crossover game of the second annual Conifer-Evergreen Mountain Classic on Dec. 10 at Conifer High School. But once the Lady Falcons figured that how to eliminate Newhall from Evergreen’s offensive equation they were able to put their own offensive spark together and hold off a fourth-quarter charge for a 56-53 win.
