Chuck Kutscher will present "Climate Change: Science vs. Skeptics" at the Colorado School of Mines on Wednesday, February 27th at 7:00 p.m. Please join the Climate Change Study Group in attending this program with a carpool leaving from RTD Bergen Park lot at 6:15. Dr. Chuck Kutscher is a Principal Engineer and Manager of the Thermal Systems Group at the National Renewable Energy Laboratory (NREL) in Golden, Colorado where he leads the research on parabolic trough solar collectors and low-cost heliostats. He is a Past Chair and a Fellow of the American Solar Energy Society (ASES), and he led the production of the 200-page ASES report, Tackling Climate Change in the U.S., which details how energy efficiency and six renewable technologies can greatly reduce U.S carbon emissions by 2030. He developed and taught the course "Climate Change Solutions" at the University of Colorado and previously taught heat transfer and Multi-Disciplinary Engineering Lab at CSM. He is a Founding Fellow of the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Institute, a joint institute of the University of Colorado and NREL. Chuck also served as the Chair of the 2012 World Renewable Energy Forum, which was held at the Colorado Convention Center in Denver in May of this year and attracted over 2,000 participants from over 60 nations. He has a B.S. in physics from the State University of New York at Albany, an M.S. in nuclear engineering from the University of Illinois, and Ph.D. in mechanical engineering from the University of Colorado.
