Evergreen Lutheran Church is seeking donations for its 24th annual Grove Sale on Saturday, Aug. 10.

“We’re looking for goods in usable condition,” said Karen Phillipe, volunteer coordinator of the sale.

Clothing, household items, sporting goods, furniture and books are welcome, she said.

All proceeds from the sale are donated to area nonprofit organizations, including Mt. Evans Home Health and Hospice, Evergreen Christian Outreach and the Seniors’ Resource Center.

“It all goes out into the community,” Phillipe said.

Last year the sale brought in more than $18,000, she noted.

The Grove Sale is an opportunity for people to clean out their possessions that are useful and usable, she remarked. Those who come to the Grove Sale also can benefit from merchandise offered for sale.

“We’re hoping they’ll donate and shop,” said Phillipe. “Some people buy clothing for the kids for the school year.”

Donations may be brought to the church on Highway 73 from Monday, Aug. 5, through Wednesday, Aug. 7, from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and on Thursday, Aug. 8, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Some items are not accepted, including large appliances, tires, mattresses, waterbeds, curtain rods, doors, windows, encyclopedias and computers.

Hours of the Grove Sale on Saturday, Aug. 10, are 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

During the event, Lutheran youths will offer lunch food, proceeds from which will be directed to church mission work.

Evergreen Lutheran Church is at 5980 County Road 73. For more information, call the church at 303-674-4654.
