Board members of the Evergreen Fire Protection District have voted to move forward with the proposed fire training facility at Evergreen Fire Station 2.
While speaking about the plan at the Sept. 11 meeting, board President George Kling said the facility has been under discussion for 10 years, and that it is necessary for volunteer firefighter training. Kling also said that Class A burning with low-smoke-producing materials would be done in accordance with guidelines developed by Fire Chief Mike Weege.
