THORNTON –– Matt Aceto and Jackson Hale combined for six RBIs as Conifer routed Thornton 20-1 in its season opener on Thursday. The game was called after four innings due to the mercy rule.
The Lobos scored four runs in the opening frame. Mark Ness got things started with an RBI single. Hale hit a sacrifice fly to center, tallying another for the Lobos as they led 3-0. Conifer finished the inning with a fourth run when Chris Wachtl singled to right, scoring John Betsch.
