Mountain residents know that long winters often leave residents with driveways in need of repair. Scam artists know the same thing.
On Oct. 14, a member of the Cornell family of Conifer was tending to the front yard and was approached by a representative for an asphalt company named “Blacktop Service.”
“The man was clean-cut and professional,” a family member said.
She said the representative asked if she wanted the family’s driveway repaved with extra asphalt his company had left over from a previous job.
