The Evergreen Arts and Cultural Alliance has added several events to the 10-day-long Arts Alive celebration planned for Friday, July 16, through Sunday, July 25.
Arts Alive Evergreen is a joint effort of Evergreen arts organizations and businesses to promote the area’s artistic, historic and recreational resources.
The event is being built around the Summerfest Arts Festival July 17 and 18 and the Evergreen Jazz Festival, July 23, 24 and 25, which are two of the area biggest summer attractions.
Paint, Sculpt, Shoot Evergreen, which is usually held in August, will now be on Saturday, July 24, in downtown Evergreen.
Mirada Fine Art, a new gallery on Parmalee Gulch Road in Indian Hills, will present an artist’s reception for Marcela Panasiti, an Argentina native who is known for her adobe murals, on Saturday, July 24.
Three performances of the Dandy Lion Children’s Theater presented by the Evergreen Chorale’s summer theater camps will be Monday, Tuesday and Thursday, at a time and location to be determined.
Artists with Altitude will stage an exhibition of plein air painting at the Hiwan Homestead Museum on Wednesday, July 21, along with the free-admission Victorian Lawn Party and Brass Band Concert at 7 p.m., also at the museum.
The downtown galleries will be open weekend nights for Gallery Walk and receptions. The Evergreen Players will present the musical “Urinetown.”
Also during July will be a national pastel exhibition at the Center for the Arts Evergreen.
